A clothing label with a social conscience.
Fiya Attire started in 2012 by two mates from South Africa, Mike & Tyron, who wanted to create something remarkable online. They didn’t just want to develop a clothing label. They also didn’t want to start a charity. Instead, they wanted to make a big difference in a new, innovative way – while making people look really cool too! Now, you're probably sitting there thinking to yourself: how can a clothing label have a social conscience? Everyday, all of us are presented with moments where we could make an impact on someone’s life. These opportunities range from the small to the life changing. We might have the chance to pull someone from a burning car, or simply share a smile in a long, agonizing queue.
At Fiya Attire, we recognize that we have been blessed with much and that there's an untold need in the world around us. We've decided to do what we love (designing super cool tees) and from this, support causes that are close to our hearts. That’s why we donate a set amount of money from each sale towards various charities in our community. Our hope is that you'd also be inspired to make an impact in the lives of people around you. In the words ofGangs of Ballet "We can't stand and watch while the world falls apart". We're not an NPO and we don't claim to have solutions to the world’s problems, but we believe that even a small group of people can make a big difference – and that’s what we’re determined to do.
We source the most talented designers to create amazing T-shirts for us and every month we choose a charity to donate $5 from every shirt sold! It's that simple – and really cool too!
Not only do you get to help out a worthy cause, you also benefit by getting a really cool T- shirt. But that's not all: you can use your great designer tee start conversations with your friends and family (or even a complete stranger!) about the great charities we support and how you’ve been able to help – just by purchasing a shirt!

Yes we know it says charities above and yet there is only one charity below for the moment. Your observation skills are awesome, you deserve a high 5! Over the next few months we plan on adding many more charities to this list but for right now one is plenty and we really look forward to giving them great support, with your help obviously.
Please check out the charity you are supporting for this month below, go find them on Facebook or Twitter and let them know who you are and how cool the shirt is that you just bought above to support them! And if you feel it in your heart to give more than the $5 you gave above contact them and get your hands dirty.
Linawo was started in 2002 by Ivy Konisi who responded to the needs of abandoned and neglected children in her community. Since 2002 Mama Ivy together with the care givers who assist her have cared for over 20 children on a full-time basis. This care includes 3 meals a day, schooling, a loving home and future opportunities.
The home is currently situated in the suburb of Pinelands in Cape Town and houses 15 children between the ages of 2 and 13. Their goal is ultimately to provide each child with tertiary education to help them become independent adults. Another goal is for them to work closely with parents to enable them to raise their children without neglect or abandonment.
If you’d like to find out more about them you can join their Facebook Page and contact Heather at firstname.lastname@example.org.
